Hey Jill, I got your message about traveling to Ireland. Unfortunately I only spent two days in and around Dublin so my recommendations are rather limited. However, depending on how many days you'll be in Ireland Dublin has a lot to offer. I definitely recommend the Guinness Storehouse at St. James Gate if you're into beer - also brews the best view of Dublin. St. Patrick's cathedral is gorgeous and is home to the most spectacular stained-glass I've seen. And the Book of Kells at Trinity College is worth a look if you're a page dweller. Also, the Temple Bar district hosts some great bars - unfortunately I didn't make it to any, but I heard it helps to be with a group of people to get in to some. I've also heard The Arlington Hotel just across the river has great authentic Irish music some nights. Some places I didn't visit but definitely will should I go back: the cities of Kilkenny and Limerick, and the "Giant's Causeway" - which is a pretty impressive natural rock formation on the north coast. One major flaw in my trip to Ireland was I underestimated its size. It's a pretty big island. I believe Dublin to Killkenny was a good three hours by Dart train and any trip to the North coast required staying over. Some tips you won't find in a brochure: 'Smithwick's' is pronounced Smith-icks and is considered an old man's beer, and I've heard the Blarney Stone is nothing more than a local urinal / tourist trip. Another important note: Ireland is about a month ahead of the U.S. in terms of seasons. The weather is fair and damp and changes throughout the day so dressing in layers is advisable. I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have that I'm able. Though I'd say I only barely got my feet wet in the wealth of sights Ireland has to offer. I'm definitely going back. Happy travels, Tristan
